HSW Statement

Our ARTworks: How the art you specify affects health, safety and well-being. continuing education program does address health, safety and welfare (HSW) issues and includes a one-hour segment dedicated to barrier-free design, accessibility, codes or standards.

HEALTH
This course addresses research showing how art affects wellbeing at large and healing in particular while also impacting the economic health of communities.

SAFETY We discuss how art can be used as a strategy to increase safety through proper selection and maintenance of public art.

WELFARE
The curriculum defines how art affects psychology; creating civic pride, improving employee morale, assisting in the healing process and supporting self-esteem.

Mandatory Continuing Education Requirements, approval procedures, number of credits and HSW status depend on the state(s) where you are licensed/certified as well as the organization(s) you are a member of.
